Carolina Summer

"Write without pay until somebody offers to pay you. If nobody offers within three years, sawing wood is what you were intended for."
– Mark Twain (1835-1910) U.S. humorist, writer, and lecturer
ElyssaAllen, a newcomer to Inkpop finally made her first debut with her heartfelt, and unmentionably sweet, short story/book idea: Carolina Summer! Staggering at the ranking of 212—which is very prominent to earn in less than a week—Elyssa, despite being a fellow Inkpopper for a little more than a month, is already beginning to make her mark. And a quite prominent one, at that.

Being an 11-paged short story prompt, Carolina Summer is such a sugary, poignant treat that’ll make a diabetic drool with saccharine. So if you’ve come to read something short and sweet, than Carolina Summer is you’re story. And trust me; you’d be surprised how much one simple smile can change your life forever. Thanks to the beautiful smile from the elusive Molly, the subtle gesture causing the sourly-moody Tanner to readjust his attitude towards life. The writing is quite refreshing, really. If you’re like me, then you’re sick and tired of paranormals and the supernatural! Well, look no further. Carolina Summer is, as I said, a short and sweet romance of pure sentimentalism—and is realistic fiction, something you don’t find too often where the supernatural are dominating the YA headlines. So if you’re fond of love at first sight, summer of course, and a refreshing short read—then Carolina Summer is the perfect story for you!

Carolina Summer is a short story which I reviewed from Inkpop.com, a YA writer's website. Since I promoted it, it's ranking surprisingly jumped from 212 to 16; making her one step closer to getting an editorial review from HarperCollins publishers/editors!
